Q&As with Jason Taylor

Jason, where did you work before AHT and how has your previous experience helped you in your new role at AHT?

I worked for Emuge High Performance Tools as territory manager, but before Emuge, most of my working career was in manufacturing with Yutaka Technologies as Die Maintenance Tech Specialist. Being able to troubleshoot various places that stamping dies likely wear and what AHT can do to solve those wear issues will help me in my new role.

As Regional Sales Manager for AHT’s Alabama facility, what territories will you cover and what services do you provide?

I will cover the following states:

• Alabama
• Arkansas
• Florida
• Georgia
• Louisiana
• Mississippi
• North Carolina
• South Carolina
• Tennessee
• Texas

At our Cullman, Alabama facility, we offer UltraGlow® ion and gas nitriding, UltraOx® for corrosion resistance, metallurgical consultation and more. We actually have one of the largest ion nitriding vessels in the United States!

When you’re not working, how do you like to spend your free time?

Most of my time is consumed with my family. My wife and I are blessed with three kids: two girls (ages 13 and 15) and our son who is 8. We enjoy hunting, fishing, camping but most important to me is that we are heavily involved in our church.

Do you have any hidden talents?

I am ambidextrous, so that came in handy when I was a pitcher. I’d start right-handed and then switch to my left hand when I got tired.

Which of AHT's Core Values resonates with you the most?

Teamwork. As a new employee, everyone has been so helpful during my training. 

What is one thing people may not know about Jason Taylor?

I grew up watching wrestling in the late 80s/early 90s, and when Hacksaw Jim Duggan got married - I got to go to his wedding! (He was married to my aunt's first cousin.) I still have the autographed 2x4!

• Most Disliked Food: Tofu
• Favorite Sport: Baseball
• Most Memorable Vacation: Taking the family to Myrtle Beach and going flounder fishing.
• Nickname: “Slew Foot”. My uncle gave me that nickname as a kid because I used to drag my feet really bad.

During your training at AHT, what stood out to you the most?

AHT has a lot of resources/benefits and the people are always willing to lend a helping hand to help the company and our customers succeed. If you have a question, there is always someone that will help you find the answer.
