Meet Josh Braun-Wagner

Q&A's with Josh Braun-Wagner

Josh, you’ve been at AHT since July 2006. Tell us about your career path at AHT.

I started as a General Laborer, fixturing on the furnace end. Shortly after that, I moved to Induction to train and became an Equipment Operator, Heat Treat Technician, Lead Tech, and then Senior Tech. Today, I am the Induction Supervisor and have been in this role for almost 7 years now.

Josh Braun-Wagner FamilyAs Induction Supervisor, what does a typical day look like for you?

It is different everyday depending on what tasks may be at hand: scheduling for the induction units, process creation, troubleshooting jobs with my crew, working with Sales on reviewing/quoting induction work, setting up jobs on the induction units, etc.

When you’re not working, how do you like to spend your free time?

I spend lots of time with my family, wife Stacy & 5 year old daughter Coraline. Otherwise you can find me fishing, disc golfing, or golfing.

AHT recently placed a purchase order for new induction equipment. Tell us about that.

We are working hard to update our line of induction equipment. We are excited to take delivery of 2 new units. These will replace 2 older units that have served us well for over 15 years. The new units will help to increase our efficiency and capacity.

AHT Induction HardeningWhat’s one professional accomplishment you are proud of?

In terms of professional accomplishments, I would say I am proud of helping/lobbying to get new induction equipment purchased and up and running and swiftly.

EDITOR'S NOTE: AHT has purchased 4 new induction units since 2019.

What is one thing people may not know about you?

I’ve had both a hole-in-one and a double eagle golfing, also multiple aces disc golfing.

What advice would you give our customers?

My advice to our customers (new or existing) would be to take advantage of talking to either myself or Chad Brandenburg (brandenburgc@ion-nitriding.com) on new or difficult induction jobs. It is always good to talk through a new or potentially difficult job ahead of time and iron out any questions that either the customer or myself would have before we get started.
